Official 1st Year Anniversary

8th of May marked the first year since my boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend. I still remember 8th May 2013 vividly. It was a normal school day but for some reason, Shaakir took me out for a dinner date at Timbre Substation at City Hall. Before that day, he told me to dress nicely as we were going somewhere nice.

During the dinner, he kept asking me questions about timing and if I felt that he had all the qualities that I looked for in a boyfriend. He was more nervous than all the dates we've been on after almost 5 months of dating. When we were walking back to City Hall MRT, he suddenly stopped walking, stood in front of me, and asked me to be his girlfriend.

I was taken aback, but in a pleasant way. I said yes, and it was as though he could not believe his ears. He kept asking, ‘really?’ several times and he kept kissing me. I found it really cute, hehe.

Now, a year has passed. We've grown inseparable. We could either make or break each others’ day. That’s how I know that he truly means something to me; when someone is able to control your daily moods. We may have our arguments but at the end of the day, I would not change a thing. I love you so much Shaakir, and I definitely want to marry you, travel the world with you, bear your kids, and grow old with you.

So, for our first year celebration, we went to P.S. Cafe at Paragon. The food was mouthwatering! And something really funny happened that kept me cracking up every once in a while throughout the whole dinner. Shaakir’s fries fell into his glass, so he asked the waiter to change the glass. The waiter, with no expression, said, ‘Yeah it looks funny’. When he returned with a new cup, again, with no expression, he said, ‘Mint leaf is okay right?’ And I couldn't help but burst into a fit of hysterical laughter again!

I also baked Shaakir cupcakes since he has been bugging me to bake something for him for quite some time. Here’s to many more anniversaries with you, sweetheart. ❤
