Many of the points you make are basic and important.

Know who you are talking to — where he/she comes from, why they are attracted to Trump

Don’t fight with people whose only goal is to get you to fight

Find out where they get their information

What do they consider “facts”. Why?

How open are they to new information?

Remember, everyone who voted for Trump expects him to do something for them.

For many it is enough that he annoys people like us.

Also, they know they are being questioned, so they will defend themselves, or get angry with anyone who traps them in an embarrassing position.

So:

Many of his supporters say that he is only doing the things he promised, so they are happy.

But remember, he promised to make their lives better.

So when there new health care insurance bill arrives, or when they go to the doctor and the costs are much higher, they may be more open to questioning their decision.

If they see that Trump and his family are getting rich, but they still have no future

When they see that the tax cuts go to the wealthy

When they see that an education is still very expensive.

When they see that there really are no new jobs, except the ones picking tomatoes that are available because the other pickers got deported.

When the price of fruits and vegetables rise because there is no one to harvest them

When hate crimes continue

When the economy begins to sputter

When he makes even less sense, and accomplishes very little

Really, many will be more open to change when there is an accepted mime about why he is failing that they can all use as a reason o switch..

Then sympathize, and tell anyone that you understand that it is difficult to give up on the idea that he is a savior. Some will be able to see that he is inept, and just a fear monger, not a problem solver. He only wants fame and attention, and doesn’t care about anyone except his rich friends and family..

Remember: Decisions made based on faulty ideas and false data will lead to failure.. With Trump that will become apparent fairly quickly, to everyone but him.

Show people how his failures are hurting their lives, probably much more than yours. They need to feel that emotionally, and in their pocketbook.

ALSO: Make sure that your friends, and others who already agree with you stay involved, get registered, write to or call representitives, and vote in every election, from Registrar of Deeds to Senator.
