Sorry, but no. The personal is not political. That’s merely the largest lie told.

Probably lost on Amber is the fact that the idea of the personal being political is part and parcel of totalitarianism. The notion behind totalitarianism is that your identity, your daily interactions, who you associate with or not, your familial choices, etc. are all political. This is where the term came from: the political is the totality; everything is political, the personal is political. A nation or society that accepts the personal as political has locked one chevron to totalitarianism.
