Teenage Wasteland: Two Years Later
I’m obsessed with capturing moments. If you know me, you know that I constantly have my phone at the ready. I hoard images like a mad-man afraid that the memory could slip through my fingers at any second. My phone has thousands of photos. My computer, well, thats a whole other story.
I have always wanted a DSLR, but have never had the money to purchase one and I was finally able to buy one about a month ago. Its become my child and I carry it around everywhere. So in honor of my new #relationship status, I wanted to go through some old photos taken on point and shoots and iPhones.
Two years ago I read a short story entitled “Teenage Wasteland” by Anne Tyler and was inspired to create a photo series. So I’m bringing it back, embarrassment included. With a few pictures added of course.
May you RIP iPhone pics.
So I had this idea to create a photo-set titled “Teenage Wasteland” inspired by the short story by Anne Tyler and half-way through I realized that taking photos was pointless. I already had hundreds; maybe even thousands of photos I had taken throughout my teenage years. Why try to recreate teenage rebellion, when I already had it? Well not exactly rebellion, I’m not the rebellious sort. I do, however, have some amazing photos to share with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
