We are living in a clamorous world, for the people to give you the attention, you need to think beyond their expectations. Imagine how many posts people see every day, and how many videos they view? what about pictures and graphics? Why would they watch, interact or read your content? What's so special about it? — Do you see how hard it is? If you’ve noticed there is another question here, will they remember your brand/product after seeing your content?

Too many questions, let’s answer them one by one through these 5 characteristics of any great content, remember not good content! a great one!

#1 Clear and Precise

Whenever you’re making a piece of content, make sure it is easier to perceive, understand or interpret. Save people’s time. If it is a caption or a video, make sure you avoid using difficult terminologies, jargon, grammar, and spelling errors.

The use of plain language will help people to easily consume your content, engage with it, remember it and easily understand it.

Always focus on the goal of your content, by being more precise your content will be short, and as usual, the shorter the better. Make sure your followers will not use more than 1–2 minutes to read your content, 30–45 seconds to watch your video, and 20 seconds to obtain a message on a graphic art or a picture.

For photography the use of basic fundamentals of photography is crucial, here I’m talking about color, composition, light, perspective, contrast, and mood the photo creates for the person who is watching at that particular time.

With this art here I designed for Tea Party Zanzibar, the idea behind was to show women at work, in order to inspire other women to step up their game.

Look at it, and give me your comments below if you have understood why the content should be clear and precise.

#2 Storytelling

Any content with a story will forever be remembered, let me take you back, you do remember the Got Milk campaign, The Tigo Ad, do do doooh, the Kayumba ad, John ad by Safari Lager, Fataki Ad, these are just a few of them, but they give us the better understanding of storytelling content.

These ads, all of them have a story, what you remember is not the ads, but the story in them.

You can be a storyteller even in a single paragraph, it is just how you structure your words (copywriting).

Images and graphic design are better also tools for telling a story of your brand.

This is not a pedestrian crossing, this is a MacDonald's billboard. This ad wasn’t meant for social networks, but it appears on social networks, and it went viral.

#3 Quality

For media, you create, (audio, image, video, graphic design) all of them should have the best quality when posted online. With my experience, all contents I have posted for my personal page, and my client’s pages I have noticed those content with the best quality receive more engagement.

How would you feel watching a shaky video, low res pictures, inaudible audio, or disorganized graphic designing? This is why I strongly recommend sharing content with the best quality.

I created this image of a Red Colobus monkey for Fisherman Tours & Travel, this image on my Unsplash account it has 6,369 views and 100 downloads. It has the quality and also tells a story.

#4 Creative

People love TikTok just because of the creativity of the content creators in that app, once you become creative it is like adding up a spice in a tea, it must smell and taste better. Always find the uniqueness of why you should make people engage with your content.

For those who are creative enough, we will always see their content going viral organically. How you write, what you write, at what context, what time, and to whom you are writing, all these questions are crucial.

Any creative content will demonstrate passion and authenticity, strengthen customer relationships, create leads and it will engage the audience.

Will you not stop just to check this ad? share with me in the comments below.

#5 Provide Value

Any great content must provide value to the audience, this is what will create new customers, retain the existing customers as well as increase the growth of your community.

Always put your audience first whenever developing new content, ask yourself what value is this content going to create for people? your content should be your sales manager, PR, or a marketing manager

Communicate your brand values and culture through content just like Apple ads when they announce their new device or Nike. Even with your small business, still, consider showing people what are they benefiting from.

If you are selling clothes, advise them what time to wear certain types of outfits, and show them how they fit so that they will compare themselves. This will never be the same with those who are just posting clothes they’re selling.

Thank you for reading this piece of information, I hope you have grasped some ideas on how you can make your content much better. Remember to share with your friend so that they also learn, share on your social network it is good for others to learn too.
