I don’t think anyone knows how the evolution of the word is going to turn out but no requests to get rid of it will work, worse yet it might put that power or “freedom” exclusively into the hands of racists.

As a white male linguist, I choose not to use the word mostly for the reasons listed in this but also because I never had that desire. Except for being able to quote “Ol’ Dirty Bastard live and uncut.” That’s obviously snark, I don’t believe any white man who uses that excuse or any other to use the word because it would have no purpose besides adding a spit to the ocean of white supremacy.
