Dear Julie,

I agree with your comment that 'you need to check in' on people who are grieving, not just after the funeral. I empathise with your everlasting grief about your parents' death.

In my recent blog I wrote about grief that comes powerfully and unexpectedly some weeks after the funeral.

Also, a book I have written with my sister, entitled 'Sunlight on Shards' has many examples of this type of grief trauma, including the death of parents in a car crash.
