Just a quick note about tonight, especially for you Trump fans.

Your umber god is going to win tonight…big. In fact, the respected Drudge Poll model predicts a Donald Trump win in New Hampshire of 105%.

Take your victory lap. I’m sure you’ll clutter my timeline with your triumphalism, but you’ve “earned” it by being lucky enough to have a lot of stubborn folks in a broad field of candidates.

This isn’t a surprise.

It isn’t unexpected.

No one is going to wake up saying, “How did THAT happen?”

New Hampshire’s still-crowded field, and a streak of working-class populism meant this outcome was pretty much inevitable. No one planned otherwise. Every other campaign has a game plan past New Hampshire beyond the whims of the candidate.

Some will fall tonight, but many will remain.

Try to keep in mind that @realdonaldtrump has been consistently polling in the low-to-mid-30s. His campaign manager is a New Hampshire native and local political mastermind. Almost none of the other candidates has spent much on ads against Trump in New Hampshire. He’s continued to enjoy non-stop, gushing, media coverage where The Donald is allowed to call in and filibuster for as long as he likes, where the spectacle of Trump blocks out the media sun.

So you should expect to finish somewhere in the high 30s tonight. 37%…39%…somewhere in that range. Any lower number is for losers. “A ‘B’ is an Asian ‘F’” amirite?

(Am I trolling you? Playing expectations? I’ll never tell.)

Enjoy!

P.S. He has an additional distinction this evening; in the history of New Hampshire’s storied primary, Trump will be the winner with the smallest hands. They’re just…dainty. Like the hands of a raccoon, or a child’s doll.
