Monologues & audition

Monologues & audition

It is very important for actors to have minimally one monologue ready at all times. I mean you should have this monologue ready to go any time, any place. Work on the monologue and have it ready. So that you can do it at any place and at any time. Practice on this monologue once a week just to keep you connected with it which includes the lines and how it should be delivered. Every week when you practice you will find things inside it that it will make the monologue delivery better. You should go through few monologues prior settling into one. Take help from your teacher.

The benefits are the following:

  1. It keeps you connected with the craft.
  2. When you are asked to perform it in an audition, you are not caught by surprise.
  3. If you practice the monologue every week then your work will show off in the auditions and this may help a lot to get you cast.

Finally, I think monologue is a great mandatory instrument for every actor. Without a monologue an actor is not complete.
