In September, RLab launched the RLab Bootcamp — an incubator for XR startups coming out of universities in NYC. We’re excited to announce the eight teams selected for this program, which includes a $10,000 grant and weekly workshops focused on market validation and business model generation. Learn more about the teams below, and check back for updates on their progress.

Immersive Space also recently did a residency at RLab for the XR Beta program.

Inward Space

Paul Torrens and Kedar Potdar
New York University, Tandon School of Engineering

Inward Space is building Edge AI platforms for movement analytics in the automotive and retail industry. The team initially formed as part of a NSF-funded research project to use simulation to explore road-crossing behavior in New York City.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment selected NYU Tandon School of Engineering as the administering institution and a consortium of participating universities, including Columbia University, CUNY, and The New School to manage and operate the RLab space. The new multi-university center is critical to the City’s plans to establish New York City as the next global leader in immersive technologies and will create hundreds of new jobs in the field.
