“When In Rome” or in our case…. “When in Copenhagen”, why not go and see Jungle? Well, that’s exactly what we did!

Last week, we had the pleasure of seeing Jungle on one of the final legs of their European tour and it was an incredible experience. In a dazzling display of musical prowess and infectious energy, the British modern soul collective, Jungle, set Copenhagen ablaze with a live performance that was nothing short of spectacular. Taking to the stage at K.B. Hallen, the band transported the audience into a sonic wonderland with their unique blend of funk, soul, and electronic beats.

From the moment the curtain fell and the first notes of “Us Against The World” resonated throughout the venue, Jungle had the audience in the palm of their hands. The dynamic duo, Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, along with their ensemble of talented musicians, delivered a performance that was both tight and exhilarating. The atmosphere was electric, with the crowd grooving to the infectious rhythm and soulful melodies. Opening their set with three songs off their new album ‘Volcano’ could have been viewed as a bold move but it quickly became apparent that Jungle’s confidence in showcasing their latest work was well-founded. Judging by the reaction of the crowd to the opening notes of “Candle Flame”, you could have swore the song had been out for years.

One of the defining features of the night was the mesmerising light show and captivating visuals that accompanied each track. Bright lights danced in sync with the music, creating a sensory experience that heightened the impact of every beat. The stage became a playground of colours, enhancing the vibrant energy emanating from the performers. Additionally, featured artists from different songs were projected on the screen such as Compton rapper Channel Tres during “I’ve Been In Love” which only heightened Jungle’s dedication to creating a truly immersive experience throughout their set.

The soulful ballad “Back On 74” provided a poignant interlude, showcasing the band’s ability to evoke emotion through their music. And when the opening notes of “Casio” hit, the crowd erupted into sheer bliss, marking a high point of the night. Jungle’s live performance not only demonstrated their musical prowess but also their ability to connect with the audience.

Our personal highlight of the night was during “Coming Back” where multiple inflatable beach balls and even an inflatable shark were released into the crowd, creating a sheer moment of fun and madness!

After an amazing encore of fan favourites “Keep Moving” and “Busy Earnin”, it was evident that they had left an indelible mark on the Copenhagen crowd. One thing was clear… Jungle’s live shows are not just concerts; they are immersive celebrations of sound and light, leaving those in attendance with a sense of awe and gratitude for having been part of something truly extraordinary. The audience dispersed with smiles on their faces, having been treated to a night of soulful rhythms, electrifying visuals, and an unforgettable musical journey courtesy of Jungle.
