I’ve heard that about our aging taste buds and that the the ability to taste sweetness hangs on the longest, only getting stronger as the others fade into tasteless oblivion. I wonder if I’ll completely shift to Rye Whiskey and Cherry Coke (don’t knock it ‘till you’ve tried it! Then knock away. ;)) from straight scotch and bourbon at that point, or if I’ll just become a sugar packet hoarder and simply sweeten EVERY drink I come in contact with thereby not giving up my palatal machismo, but tweaking it slightly.
