Celebrate Pride Month with queer/bar Seattle

“I know you’re queer, but what am I?”

Pride month is just around the corner, and I’ve been saving one of my favorite spots in Capitol Hill for just this occasion.

Welcome to queer/bar.

This all-inclusive and, well, queer bar in Capitol Hill is home to some of Seattle’s best-known drag performers, go-go dancers, DJs and dance nights.

Home to some of the most-celebrated drag queens in the country, hosting different drag events nearly every night (and brunch on the weekends), RuPaul’s Drag Race viewing parties, and afterparties following late night events, it’s no wonder queer/bar has become a go-to spot for Capitol Hill’s LGBTQ+ community to drink, dance, and be queer.

Queer/bar has gained popularity in recent years among fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Several of the show’s contestants have come from Seattle’s drag scene, and many of them are regular performers at queer/bar.

However, queer/bar’s own cast of rotating performers is on its own absolutely incredible — I have seen my favorite local performers absolutely tear the place down. The club is home to such local talents as Cali The Stalli, Caramel, Issa Man, Norvina Dubois (who recently performed with Sasha Colby on her STRIPPED tour stop in Seattle), and so many more. If you’re interested in drag at all, queer/bar is the place to go to experience Seattle’s artists.

Currently, you can see Irene (the Alien) Dubois perform in queer/bar’s Mothership show on Thursdays (featuring special guests), and as part of the rotating lineup in their MX show on Fridays and Saturdays.

Queer/bar is also hosting events celebrating AAPI drag, POC drag, and a twice-a-month event featuring a walk-off for patrons with a $5 entry fee (winner takes the pot).

During Pride month, queer/bar is hosting a long line of drag shows featuring guests from RuPaul’s Drag Race including Willow Pill and Jessica Wild, and of course participating in Capitol Hill’s iconic annual Pride Festival.

Over the summer, queer/bar is holding a long line of shows featuring guests from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 9, including Vanessa Vanjie (Miss Vaaaaaaaanjie), Gottmik, Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Nina West, Jorgeous and Roxxxy Andrews.

Seattle PrideFest is already iconic, and queer/bar is here to make it as explosive, as fabulous, as queer as it can be. If you haven’t already, you should grab tickets to at least one of their upcoming shows.

Happy Pride, Seattle!
