Oldies never die
So my sister found a very old box of CD’s the other day and came across Theme Hospital. Anyone that grew up in the 90's on a Windows 98 system and whose house seemed to spawn these random unused CD’s (‘cause I just know my parents wouldn’t have purchased a PC game) will know how much of an awesome game it really was. Definitely one of the first ‘Theme’ inspired games.

A few more: Dungeon Keeper, made again by Bullfrog (who eventually went bust and got scooped up by EA).

Spent endless hours on this game. Mostly spent slapping chickens and showering the very stubborn Horned Reapers with gold to keep them from revolting and screwing shit up.
The Tonka series:

Space Colony:

Now this was probably my second favourite build-a-civilization game. I loved the fact you are forced to monitor oxygen, electricity and other resources, while having to deal with the daily lives of crew members AND the relationships between them. All characters are unique and are in to different interests, and you have to cater for those interests by building the coolest space station ever, and keeping social levels balanced.
Age of Empires II:

Speaks for itself really. Pretty much THE GAME to have if you’re into building empires, and.. huge armies, and.. farms. My god-mode journey began from here, but we’ll get into that another time.
Any other oldie goldies?
