How to Inspire + Captivate Your Dream Clients Through Starting a Movement

For many of us we’re comfortable with sharing our free content (the inspiring quotes on Instagram, the blog articles chock full of free resources and step-by-step guides, the scopes where we just give, give, and give!) pretty much as Gary Vaynerchuk calls it, “The Jab Content.”

But how many of us get really uncomfortable when it’s time to deliver the right hook? Where we actually have to ASK something of our audiences.

Nod yes! Many of us do!

And if we’ve been giving (as we should!) then you have every right to share your products and services with your audience.

But there’s a tiny voice inside of all our heads that stops many of us from promoting and sharing our passion projects, because we’re afraid of some sort of backlash.

  • We’re afraid our audiences won’t like and comment on our social posts as much.
  • We’re afraid we’ll come off as salesy and overly promotional.
  • That we sold out and have no soul.

And all I want to say to that tiny voice within our minds is, “Stop trying to stop this movement!”

If you can switch your mindset from being in the business of selling a product/service to your dream clients to INSTEAD being in the business of selling a movement, you’ll be able to inspire and captivate your dream clients in an authentic and non-salesy/overly promotional way.

You’re not in the business of selling/promoting a service or product, you are the head of starting your own movement.

What do I mean by that?

Your dream clients aren’t buying your products and services.

  • They’re buying the result.
  • They’re buying the experience behind it.
  • They’re buying into the movement.

Your services and products are an important piece of the puzzle, but I repeat, they’re not what you’re selling.

For example, my products and services are a 3-month Mentorship program and an Inner Freedom Kits E-course series.

But what I’m really selling is a movement that is helping a BILLION people over time transform their mindset, handle their personal fears, and strengthen their self-care in their life and business, because they DESERVE to unleash their calling! So as a collective we can dramatically impact this planet and help bring healing where there is suffering, hope where there is doubt, and courage where there is fear.

So, I want you to know that I get that little negative Nancy voice inside my head too. The one who wants us to play small so we can be “safe.”

But will I let her stop this movement? Hell no!

And neither should you!

So, I want to show you specifically what I mean by sharing your movement and how to know if you’re already doing it:

  • You have a love and abundance mindset. Where there is love and abundance (the over promotion) can’t exist

Meaning that if you’re coming from a place of deep love and respect for your dream clients and your audience, its impossible for you to come off as a sleazy car salesmen.

It’s when you have ulterior motives and are coming from a scarcity mindset that your posts and call to actions will feel: pushy, salesy, and totally out of wack.   1. You actually have a purpose, movement, and powerful message behind what you’re selling

I would never look at a non-profit and think how dare they ask for money and donations. Instead, I’ll reach into my purse and try to help them out if they have a good message. A for-profit brand can easily take this same approach. What’s the deeper movement behind your brand? What are you REALLY selling?

Activate Your Calling Mini Exercise:

Grab a sheet of paper and answer the three questions below:

  1. What does your heart need to feel (deep down) for you to be happy?
  2. Who were you three years ago and/or Who are you drawn to help?
  3. What lights you up? What do you enjoy doing so much that you can easily lose track of time?

Now take your answers to these clarity activator questions and put them in this format:

I’m meant to: (answer to question #1) + (answer to question #2) through (answer to question #3) = your current movement

Ex. I’m meant to love and support spiritual entrepreneurs who are struggling with overwhelm, anxiety, and fear in their life and business through my writing and mentoring

  1. You do marketing that is in alignment with what your dream clients are ready and open for

Think about your ideal client and how they would like to be spoken to. Some dream clients need a soft and subtle approach with lots of emotion and story. Others want a direct and to the point approach with plenty of facts!

Market the way that your dream client is open to. It won’t come off as salesy or that you’re hiding if you’re doing the right marketing for the right audience.

And how can you figure out what your dream client target audience wants in terms of marketing?

Try this: The 15-min (2 question) market research plan:

Prep work before you get started:

  • Sign-up for Calendly.com (or use your favorite booking software)
  • Sign-up for Uber Conference (or use your favorite contact software)
  • Create 2 questions that you are going to ask your ideal client base
  • EX. What are you currently struggling with? If you could fix one thing in your life right now, what would it be? What’s are you doing right now to fix your current situation? How do you like to learn? E-courses? 1:1 Coaching? Group Coaching? Do you prefer to learn through video, e-books, podcast (audio), or in-person? What do you wish you knew about

Ok, so this is where you go where your ideal client base is (the one that you are testing to see if you jive with!).

You can go into FB groups, your e-mail list, or your other social media channels and drop this post:

I’m doing some market research! I help _____insert one sentence about who you want to help and potentially with what_______.

I would LOVE to hop on the phone with a few people who need help with this.

Talk a little bit about what you need the research for (ex.
