A long and overdue visualisation reveals just how diverse the Recruiting Brainfood community really is!
The distribution of dots on the map shows us that the Brainfood community lies in as many as 800 cities! The higher the number of Brainfooders, the larger the dot. The colour scheme is based on the number of males and females in each location, consistent with the previous visualisation.

UK and Ireland
The UK is by far the largest Brainfood community in the world, nearing 3,000 subscribers.
The most populous city in the UK, London, contains the largest group with around 50% of all UK Brainfooders based in the capital.
The remaining 50% are spread out quite well — in 250 other towns and cities in fact! There are Brainfooders in locations ranging from Penzance to Aberdeen, with pockets of popularity in the cities of Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
Ireland is dominated by Dublin, with 150 Dubliners enjoying the Brainfood!
The second largest Brainfood community is spread out in almost 200 towns and cities across the majority of the US states. Though the Brainfood is yet to reach every state, it is being enjoyed in the non contiguous states of Hawaii and Alaska!
The largest population by city is San Francisco with 220 Brainfooders, with New York City coming in second at 180. Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago and Austin also popular places to indulge in the Brainfood but it’s great to see that the community is also spread out to places I’ve never even heard of before!
After the UK, the largest Brainfood community in Europe is Germany. As shown by the large red dot at the capital, the majority of Brainfooders in Germany are based in Berlin — and the majority are female.
Munich and Hamburg go head-to-head for 2nd place with other notable Brainfood communities in Frankfurt, Cologne and Stuttgart.
Another country in which the Brainfood is popular is the Netherlands.
The majority of the community are based in the capital city of Amsterdam, similar to the UK and Germany.
The large dot that represents Amsterdam is a grey colour which reflects the male/ female split which is exactly 50:50.
As shown by the map, the community is spread out quite well throughout the country with Utrecht, The Hague and Rotterdam the next largest Brainfood cities after Amsterdam.
With the Brainfood yet to fully make it’s mark in Latin America and Africa, the largest Brainfood community in the southern hemisphere by far is Australia.
A total of zero Brainfooders in the outback contrasts with the cities of Sydney and Melbourne where 80% of all Brainfooders in Australia are based.
Melbourne has some catching up to do however as Sydney takes top spot for the highest number of Brainfooders in Australia with 175.
With hundreds of Brainfood cities spread around the globe, we could go on forever looking at the breakdown within different countries. For the areas that we have looked at, the largest Brainfood populations are based in cities with the largest populations. But this is not the case for everyone, in particular in the UK, providing us with a great reminder that there are plenty of places outside of London!
