The iPhone SE, a nod to the elegance and “hand feel” of the iconic iPhone 5

This WIRED article is both hilarious and a tribute to how nuanced the iPhone toting audience is. While Androids get bigger and bigger, which I attribute to the population getting older and needing larger text, iPhones and Apple are getting smarter and smarter.

To read the sheer poetry of the Liz Stinson’s writing regarding the iPhone 5’s industrial design, amplified by Jared Ficklin, co-founder and designer atargodesign, he writes: “It just feels beautiful in the hand…it has this cutting feel to it like you’re holding onto something substantial.”

Not only is the design of the SE retro (“so four years ago”), its price is as well at $400. It seems that the technology is all 2016 except for the 3D touch functionality, a feature that is frankly over my head so not likely to be missed by most. And it is true that my fingers are now longer having stretched to text quickly on a 6.

What’s your take? Will your next iPhone be smaller or larger now that many of us have adapted to the iPhone 6? One thing I do know — having smashed many a 4, 4s and 5 — the 6 has dramatically addressed durability so my iPhone 6 is going to be with me for a long time….it just won’t fit in my pocket!!!
