Huawei will not allow the Trump Administration to stand in the way of the launch of the upcoming Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro — the company has renewed the P Series for another iteration, if the latest rumors are to be believed, and it is set to launch with 5 G to boot in all the biggest markets. This is what we understand.

Huawei Mate 30 Best Fastest Wireless Charging Phone

With the Huawei Mate 30 being the next big handset on Huawei’s radar, much of what we’ve heard about the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro is water cooler talk- but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some nuggets of precise data buried deep in the mounds of wishful thinking. For instance, a Kirin 990 CPU is a sure bet.

SPECS

A high-resolution screen is the most significant enhancement that should come in conjunction with the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro. After all, we’re going to be in 2020 and the FHD+ panel bundled on the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro just won’t cut it down — it’s going to need something to compete with at least 2 K resolution.

Like recent rumors, we also expect to see a Kirin 990- the upcoming successor to the current top-of-the-line AI-infested Kirin 980 — running the show, as well as an increase in RAM (somewhere in the 10 GB range on the Huawei P40 and 12 GB on the Huawei P40 Pro appears feasible) and a bigger battery on both models.

What’s more, it is said that the Huawei P40 Pro comes standard with 5 G, eliminating the need to pick up a specialized version that will quickly have the omnipresent network onboard. However, the same can not be said for the Huawei P40 standard, which is only expected to support 4 G LTE out of the box- as its cost will reflect.

As it stands, Huawei is permitted to trade with U.S. businesses, so many expect the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro to ship with Android as opposed to the company’s in-house option. But we could look at a distinct truth coming in 2020, either because it was banned again or because it wanted to break away.

DESIGN

It’s hard to imagine that when it comes to the design of the Huawei P40, Huawei will reinvent the wheel, with the most significant modifications set to come in the form of camera upgrades (more about that in a bit). Here and there we could see the strange shift, but the general construction is tipped to stay unchanged for the most portion.

That, though, is not such a poor thing. The Huawei P30 is one of the sleekest and most sophisticated smartphones to hit the shelves in 2019, featuring what was quickly dubbed a sandwich design where a Gorilla Glass sheet is attached to the back of an aluminum frame and a high-resolution screen is mounted on the front.

CAMERA

Here’s some food for thought: The P in Huawei P Series is long-rumored to stand for photography- tittle-tattle driven by the company’s tradition of pushing the envelope when it comes to mobile photography with the Pro version in the spectrum. And what do you think? There will be no difference between the Huawei P40 (or rather the Huawei P40 Pro).

+The most reliable rumors we’ve heard say that the Huawei P40 Pro will have onboard a Penta-lens camera- like the Nokia 9 PureView- co-engineered German image titan Leica. That’s five sensors in total. For contrast, the present Huawei P30 Pro flagship has four sensors, including the Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor.

PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

According to a source familiar with Huawei’s plans- which is in line with what we’ve seen from the company before — the Huawei P40 is thought to be undergoing comprehensive testing ahead of an expected release in March or April 2020. After all, in April 2018 the Huawei P20 and in March 2019 the Huawei P30 were introduced.

There’s no word on how much the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro will cost, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make a guess; the Huawei P20 retailed for £ 599 and the Huawei P20 Pro for £ 799, and the Huawei P30 for £ 699 and the Huawei P30 Pro for £ 899, so we’re pinning the Huawei P40 at £ 799 and the Huawei P40 Pro at £ 999.
