HBO’s original programming has become more than just a staple of “the Platinum Age of TV.” It has actually become so well regarded that it has evolved into a measure with which to judge other programming. So to ignore it simply because of the inherent conflict involved in HBO’s investment the Ringer is unrealistic and in fact undesirable — I DO want to hear what the Ringer staff has to say about it.

Having said that — and maybe I just haven’t been paying close enough attention — have we had a poor review for original HBO programming or an HBO business decision yet? Without one, the previous writer’s complaint does warrant concern.
