The secrets of our world are often tilted towards decimation but can be revealed to those fearless few who will risk anything for the truth. Those who seek salvation in the eyes of horror will be rewarded with glory.

Note: This is a lengthy read, and we encourage you to read it in detail for the best understanding of hunts. With that, we understand it can be a lot, so here is a quick TL;DR for a general idea.

  1. Hunts are not mandatory, but participation is highly encouraged.
  2. Hunts will begin by staking a Rebel on the Rebel website, but clues, riddles, and games will be spread across all Rebel communication mediums. (Twitter, Discord, website, etc.)
  3. Hunting involves both risk and reward. You may rescue Rebels along the way or have your Rebel captured.
  4. Rewards are tilted in the participant’s favor.
  5. If your rebel is captured, it will be placed up for auction.
  6. Hunts will span multiple days and be broken into time-gated stages to create as much fairness as possible for different locations and schedules.
  7. Individual hunt details can be found at the bottom of this article.

What are Hunts?

Hunts are a core component of the rebel world. Immersive storytelling events allow holders to test their knowledge and savvy through riddles, games, and thoughtful decision-making.

The interesting part is that each hunt will be different. Our plan has always been to build core mechanisms that can be reused in thoughtful ways while developing new ones along the way, giving each hunt its own feel and uniqueness.

Why should you participate?

Hunts are not mandatory (obviously), but we do encourage participation for a number of reasons.

  1. They will be fun. Yes, we understand that everyone doesn’t enjoy solving riddles, but that is not all this is. We have specifically designed hunts to cater to a number of different styles. It’s not just puzzle after puzzle.
  2. Hunts are the only way to find 1/1s. If you know anything about the Tokyo Rebels at this point, you know the basic story of The Ten. Five of the ten were found during our trip. The other five will be hidden among the upcoming hunts. (No, they will never be hidden in the same manner.)
  3. There are other rewards and benefits along the way. This isn’t just a hunt for a ten, there are plenty of rewards along the way, even if you do not finish the hunt. We want everyone to know they have a chance to benefit even if they don’t make it very far. And we have purposely stacked those rewards in the participants’ favor.

Where will hunts take place?

As we mentioned before, each hunt will be different, and we plan to utilize every communication medium we have at our disposal. This means we will hide things across discord, twitter, media, and even the NFTs you already own, we may have even hidden some things in this article…

However, one thing will remain the same and that is where the hunts start. Hunts will always begin on the Rebel website as you must stake your Rebel in order to participate. More on that next.

How will staking work?

Much like your typical engagement, you will need to sign your Rebel onto our staking contract to participate. For our own sake, we must implement a reward system within the hunts. We will touch on that more in the next section, but first, we will simply explain what our staking rules will be.

  1. We will have a staking window open from Monday to Wednesday. It is within this window that you will need to decide if you wish to participate in the hunt.
  2. If you decide to participate and stake your Rebel, you will be eligible to participate in the hunt.
  3. Once the staking window closes, you will not be able to un-stake until the following week, when the window opens again.
  4. If your Rebel is staked but you no longer wish to participate in the hunt, then you can simply wait for the windows to open and then un-stake your Rebel.

The Risk: Reward System

As mentioned in the previous section, our hunts will have a risk-reward system. In plain terms, it will be possible for you to rescue Rebels throughout the hunt as well as have your own captured. Having your rebel captured or rescuing rebels are not guaranteed outcomes of the hunts; it is possible to make it through without either occurring.

For every Rebel captured, there will be at least 7 rescued for the first hunt; however, each hunt will vary. Again, we want to encourage participation.

So what happens to captured rebels? We have also constructed a system for post-hunt auctions of captured Rebels. Each auction might vary depending on what is available. Our system is set up for both Dutch and English-style auctions.

Are there any specific hunt rules?

The only rule is that if you are caught trying to game the system, you will be disqualified from all hunts. You must adhere to the hunt structure, and any attempt to hack or bypass any step will result in a DQ.

Besides that, we have only one suggestion.

We encourage you to keep your findings to yourself. Openly discussing things may give others lurking hints to win a hunt.

What if I don’t have time to participate?

We are well aware that we all have different schedules, live in different time zones, and cannot spend endless hours searching for clues and playing games. Due to this, we will always do our best to make hunts as fair as possible for all community members.

Here is how we plan to do so:

  1. Each hunt will have different durations, some lasting a few days while others may be up to a week.
  2. Each hunt will be broken into multiple stages and time-gated. This means that each day you will only be able to get so far before being able to proceed the following day. (Don’t worry, we will tell you when you are at one of those gates.)
  3. We will make every effort to schedule hunts on weekdays and weekends. Meaning, if we have a 3-day hunt, we will have it start on a Thursday night and have all stages open by Sunday.

We understand there is no perfect solution to this, but we feel this gives everyone the best opportunity to participate.

Also note that if we launch a hunt on a Thursday and you can’t do anything until Saturday, that is fine; you will be able to access any open gates up to that point.

Final Thoughts.

These events are something we have spent a lot of time constructing, and we want this community to have fun and enjoy being part of the Rebel world. As our first hunt and all subsequent hunts culminate, we want to hear your feedback, so as always, please let us know your thoughts.

Below, we will outline the constructs of each hunt moving forward.
