How to Handle Someone Else’s Anxiety or Panic Attacks
George Tinari

The hardest thing for me is, with my best friend, who I care a lot lot about, will go through these intense panick attack episodes of fear and depression and whatever else it is (lasts like a few hours usually at night)… and he won’t tell me it’s happening. He will just not respond to me or whatever.

Then I try to seriously show concern the next day when he is kind of still rattled, and he doesn’t explain what happened or happens, or, how I can help. It’s like he only brings it up if I say “hey man what was that all about last night — you never called me back”; then he will say it was an attack. And I inquire about it with care, and he dismisses me ultimately.
What is going on in this case? And what are your suggestions?
