Bitcoin Inscription, also known as Ordinal Inscription, is a revolutionary concept that has taken the Bitcoin network by storm. It refers to the process of attaching metadata, such as text, images, and videos, to a satoshi, the smallest unit of Bitcoin. This function enables diverse data types to be inscribed and linked into each individual satoshi, creating unique digital assets known as Digital Artifacts or Bitcoin-native Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

The Ordinals protocol, which introduced the concept of Bitcoin Inscription, was first launched on January 21, 2023, by software engineer Casey Rodarmor.
