This was a very interesting article. Where do you live… New York?
As for there being “no good way to be a girl,” I can tell you from personal experience that the right way to be a girl is your way.
It seems to me that so many people look outside of themselves to figure out how to be, when, in fact, the only place to look is inside.
Be a leader, be you, don’t allow yourself to be interrupted (as you mentioned in the article). Don’t allow anything you don’t want, and if your life isn’t working for you, make it work — it’s your life. No one else is going to do it for you.
I have never questioned how to be me (because being me is more important than figuring out how to be a woman), I just did it! I am me. I’ve always been me. When I do question myself or my life, I do so to improve myself and my life and my marriage.
Yes, some people don’t like it, but so what? Those are people I don’t want in my life, anyway.
The outside world will never truly validate you because none of them know anything either! Looking inside and being strong on the inside is the only way to be. Meditation is a great tool for this, as is asking yourself what you think. I did that for myself during an anxiety-ridden portion of my life, and it worked!
Be you. I’ve done it all my life, and it’s spectacular!
