Question: “Do you like my country?”

When the question “Do you like/enjoy Vietnam?”are asked to foreign visitors everytime, I just sigh. They sprinkle these questions on national media, on travelling broadcast. The frequency is absurd.
This question is like asking : “Do you hate Vietnam?” in reverse order. Do they answer in front of the camera: “I will never come back to this place…?”. No. They have no choice but to answer “Yes, I like your country. It’s beautiful.”
While many other tourists do enjoy Vietnam ( and indeed, the country is awesome but service suck ), they are amused.
Carl Sagan the astronomer says: “Real patriots ask questions.” But he means the kind of question that is legit, constructive and smart, not this question that the me in kindergarten come up with. Something like : “Hoi An town requires entrance fees. Do you agree or not?” is good.
The audiences watching this question are further led by the nose, that their country is loved by the tourists. Everything is good, is beautiful, so why need any change in tourism policy and why do they still say our government can’t manage shit? This question reflects the lacking level of the interviewer and the population in general. Also, this question belongs to the norm keeping system. Behind that flashy appearance covers the rotten truth.
