Today ladies and gentlemen; I have some new TV fire for you to view at your earliest convenience and we’re talking about Guy Ritchie’s new Netflix series “The Gentlemen”

If you were wondering if the 2019 film release and the series have any connection? The answer to that question is no. The series adaptation of the film is a whole different story.

You follow Eddie Horniman and his family as it is revealed at his father's will reading that he’ll inherit the estate, all its assets, and the underground weed farm under the dairy.

The series does a good job of setting up Eddie and his family as you walk with him through the trials and tribulations the Glass family presents him during their tenure on the farm.

Once a soldier, now a gangster for what seems to be weekends. Eddie is no stranger to a fight and carries himself well. His well-structured discipline and drive to do anything for his family. Has the proper bringing of a true “Don”. Guy Ritchie did a remarkable job on this series, because once you start it? It’s hard to get it out of your mind.

The show will run 8 episodes at an hour a piece, and if you’re wondering at any point there’s a slowdown? No, it’s Guy Ritchie we’re talking about. Expect some twist and an underlying plot beneath the main structure of things.

Theo James did a great job in his portrayal of Edward Hornimen. You can see his decline into the underworld as he dives into the seedy sesspool of the UK criminal underground. Once a man with a code, ethics, and a decent moral compass; It’s nice to see Superman turn into Lex Luthor. Allegedly.

Like many others, we had immense trouble putting it down. IMDB scored it an 8.4 and most of my peers have been raving it at 9 and above so it’s a justified ranking. For what seemed like a drought in good shows, it’s pleasant to see “The Gentlemen” come out on top of this month's releases. The show is a 9/10 on my chart. With clever writing, great scenes, and color grading on point (No dark, or bleak moments), you get everything you need out of a Guy Ritchie project.
