We’re excited to announce a new update to Yeti, which enables members to follow their friends, locals nearby, and Yeti curated accounts. This has been one of the most requested features and we’re happy to announce it’s live!

How it works

Yeti recommends the best of what’s nearby. These recommendations are curated for you, based on your swipes, location, and interests. With the new update, you’ll now see you posts from friends in your area. This is great if you’re in a new town and want to see what your friends recommend. This also gives you the control to fine-tune your feed, making sure you see what you want as you explore the world.

Yeti Curated Accounts

Besides the fantastic users we have across the world sharing the best of what’s nearby, Yeti has partnered with dozens of individuals and groups to bring an exceptional curated experience. For example, you can follow Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservation and The Layover, or Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive-Ins and Dives to get restaurants recommendations from the pro’s across the US! *

*Anthony Bourdain and Guy Fieri have not (yet) endorsed Yeti, recommendations are pulled from their shows.

We will be releasing 4 new food related accounts every week, these are just the beginning!

If food isn’t what you’re looking for, we’ve uploaded a comprehensive library of museums and attractions across the globe under the accounts Yeti Local and Yeti Culture. When you’re in London, you might stumble upon the National History Museum, whereas in LA, you might discover LACMA.

Follow Yeti Local to see local attractions nearby like: parks, attractions, bars, and more. Follow Yeti Culture to see local museums in your area.

How to follow someone on Yeti

  1. Swipe through your feed until you find something interesting.
  2. Tap the image you like.
  3. Tap the profile image. In this case we’re looking at Yeti Local. From here you can scroll down to see all the posts from this user, and whether or not they’re follow-worthy. If you like their posts, tap ‘follow’.
  4. You can see all the people you’ve followed from the settings page at the top left of your home feed (3 dashes).
  5. Tap on any of the people you follow to show their profile.

We’re very excited about this capability to fine-tune your feed based on the accounts you care most about. In the next update we’ll be releasing tools to connect easily with your friends so you can get the best recommendations from the people you care most about. Stay tuned!
