4 Ways to Automate

Our lives are busy and sometimes we have to do things that aren’t always fun. We collected a list of helpful tools and workflows to help make your life more productive.

1. IFTTT

It stands for IF This Then That, it’s an automation app which allows you to create recipes to perform specific actions using 2 different apps. You can have the day’s weather texted to you each day, save new contacts in a google spreadsheet, have your Instagram photo post as a native Twitter image, even automatically thank your Twitter followers. There are countless possibilities and can be a big time saver. You’re free to use recipes made by other users or even create your own.

2. BUFFER

Maybe you have a new etsy shop or an event you want to promote; or maybe just want to make your posting more optimized and consistent. Except you don’t always have time to publish social media posts for said shop, event, etc. Buffer is the answer, it’s a social media scheduling tool which allows you to schedule posts, view analytics, and tweak post times and days. It connects to Twitter, Facebook profiles, Facebook Pages, Google+ Pages (profiles aren’t supported), Pintrest, and LinkedIn. They feature 5 tiers of pricing.

3. AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS

Paying bills isn’t very fun so why not automate the process. Automatic payments is a feature most banks and companies offer. Ideally you’ll want a separate account where all payments are withdrawn from. Once that account is created, connect it your cell carrier, car insurance company, etc. we also recommend creating a budget spreadsheet so you can see how much is being withdrawn.

4. AUTOMATED COMPUTER TASKS

Have your computer turn itself on and be ready for when you get to work, save text as audio, and do many more helpful tasks. All things you can tell your computer to do by itself. Although, they are somewhat advanced so read up on how to create automatic tasks if you aren’t familiar.
