I agree that putting pen to paper does not make you a writer. It does not, however, render you a primate that can never learn to be one. There are people who have things to write - brutally raw, honest, and tragically heart wrenching stories. In the mix of all the emotions and experiences, it takes practice to learn how to bleed on paper. People new to writing stumbling through cold and awkward paragraphs isn’t exactly beautiful, but that doesn’t mean that it never will be. It takes time to learn to dance with words. Let’s encourage and challenge one another as writers, rather than simply passing harsh judgment.
