Once Steve died and Diana had that montage epiphany and realized that Steve’s love gave her the power to defeat Ares — like, a man’s love, not the love of those who raised her, or the love of her sisters. Huh?!

I interpreted her epiphany more like Steve’s love gave her a REASON to defeat Ares, as the “goodness”/love in Steve represented the goodness and love in humanity as a whole, who were all worth saving despite the areas of darkness inside them. The love of those who raised her and/or her sisters wouldn’t really apply as directly to the situation, since they’re of the gods, not mankind. Definitely a fair point, though.
