I still believe Jussie Smollett.

That’s right. I still believe Jussie Smollett was a victim of a hate crime, just like he said he was. I don’t care what the straight, white men (I assume) at the Chicago Police Department say. I won’t even care if Jussie, under pressure of the law, “admits” this was a hoax.

I will not, ever, no matter what “facts” arise, let the right wing Nazi’s in this country be proven right. Even if they are right.

We cannot give them this ammo. We must not validate their suspicions that many of these hate crime incidents are hoaxes, rather than the consequence of Trump enabling white supremacy. Even when the truth is that the victim was lying, we cannot waiver from the notion that this country is systemically racist and every woman and person of color is under threat from white men.

They say the details were preposterous. That white MAGA hat wearing rednecks beating up a gay black actor from the show Empire, yelling “this is MAGA country,” in the middle of Chicago, a blue city in a blue state sounds far-fetched seems over-the-top. That him calling the cops close to an hour later and walking into the hospital with a noose still around his neck, seems fishy.

Well it makes total sense to me. And it will continue too even if disproved. Because I don’t believe the hype they’re selling to us.

To hell with the white patriarchy. They CANNOT be right. So I proudly proclaim, I STILL believe Jussie Smollett.
