Observation about Tesla Motors design

Your Car Is Now A Consumer Electronic

I think that the reality is that cars are moving closer to being consumer electronics, and Tesla is the furthest along that path — so if you look at the trajectory of typical consumer electronics, like laptops and smartphones, we replace those once every few years, (about 2–3 for laptops and 1–2 for smartphones) as the tech changes so rapidly.

Even though Tesla seems futuristic today, in 3 years the interfaces and design will feel ancient. So I predict we’ll be seeing refreshed designs which leverage even newer technologies, possibly even retrograding the drag numbers, for the sake of style and adherence to a latest tech.
