Ripe Guava and Worms — Choose Your Reality

Do you see opportunities or problems?

Of course it’s not like problems or obstacles don’t exist. But sometimes we see them even when they only live in our own perspective.

Like this simple example that happened just the other day.

I came across a huge guava on a tree.

Bigger than all the others. Huge. Ripe. Perfect.

An obvious blessing from the universe.

I usually find fruit fly larvae in many guavas, so out of habit and fear/suspicion, I inspected the open flesh of the guava.

But caution quickly depleted into paranoia and I ended up nibbling only parts of this huge luscious guava, my own mind consumed instead by “cautionary” inspection.

Because of this, I did not enjoy this guava and ended up throwing away half the flesh. Much to my chagrin.

If I’d just bit into it without thinking, id have savored it and enjoyed it fully.

It was so big. And so ripe.

The only worms — were in my mind.

When opportunity comes you can spoil it by hatching worms in your own mind. Or seize it fully and savor it.

In the case of a unique manifested opportunity, remind yourself to appreciate and accept with gratitude.

Stop looking for worms.
