We had this crazy idea to not only create an NFT project based on tarot and real esoteric themes infused with real magic, but to also map the generative traits to pieces of lore and tarot readings! It was a super fun part of our project and we want to share with you our process on how we came up with each.
The Big Picture
We ended up mapping four of our trait categories to articulations so that, depending on the art generation, your Omen will come with a unique message. The Articulation based traits are: The Background, the Skin, The Tarot pendant, and the Attunements. The Articulations are captured in the metadata and will show up in the same order as the layers. Our articulations will show up in the description section of our marketplace write up, and will also be viewable on our website viewer!
Background Articulations
Since our backgrounds are all elements, we wanted to use the themes from each; fire, water, air, earth, and ether. This is the first layer and will be the first articluation, so it includes the idea of a message. Each starts with the words “A message arrives…” and then how this message arrives is up to the element; in a droplet of water, in a flicker of a flame, in the whisper of the wind, in a sprouting seedling, or in the space in-between.
Skin Articulations
Our skins are all energy vibrations. We wanted to represnt the feeling of the energy system they represented as well as the area of the body they goverened (crown, third eye, throat, and heart for the ckaras). For the Divine Feminine Rose Gold skin, the idea was to add some softness and playfulness across the whole body, and in contrast the Sacred Masculine Titanium skin articulation is sharper and more direct.
Tarot Articulations
This was what took us the longest to create. Our Co-lead and resident tarot reader went through each tarot card (many different decks in fact) to look for common themes and take notes. Then she condensed that into two-three sentence micro readings for each card.
Attunement Articulations
We felt very strongly that we needed some real magic representation in our art. When doing a spell or hosting a ceremony, we typically work with an energy cericle, a tethered link to our ancestors, wax, fire, and candles. Our co-lead and master of ceremonies wrote these articulations based on how and why we use these tools in magic; Wax to seal, fire to seal, energy charge to expedite, circle bind to protect, and third eye activation to gain insight.

The art featured in this post was generated in our test run on Feburary 3rd 2022. It came out gorgeous! If you take a look at the art, you will see that this NFT has a water background with a wax seal attunement. She also has a Crown Chakra Skin and a 9 of Pentacles pendant. Here is what her articultion sounds like:
“A message arrives in a droplet of water. It cleanses the psychic sense. This message is sealed in wax and will hold true for as long as the seal remains.You feel it tingle in your scalp, open up to all possibilities. Self reliable and sufficient, reaping benefits of wisely used talents and resources, developed emotional stability, do you feel complete?”
