I absolutely agree with the other commenter about the book comparisons.
I am not much of a fiction reader, and of the three books listed in your copy, the only one I have a positive feeling about is Little Women. Like the other commenter, I disliked A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
I love your writing on The Billfold, but A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is honestly what stopped me from buying your book.
Now that I write it out, I realize that that isn’t reason enough, and I’m going to reconsider. :) If it’s useful, I think this is the strongest part of your copy:
Set against the past thirty years of social and cultural changes, this story of family, friendship, and artistic ambition takes us into intimately familiar experiences: putting on a play, falling out with a best friend, getting dial-up internet for the first time. Drinking sparkling wine out of a paper cup on December 31, 1999 and wondering what will happen next.
The preceding copy wasn’t bad, but I found it a bit hard to follow with so many character names thrown at you right away, and I didn’t get a feel for the plot of the book.
Anyway I hope the feedback is helfpful in some way. I would love nothing more than to see your book sales sky rocket. Good luck!
