History of Thirumanancheri Temple
According to legend the legend goes that According to the mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvathi were at war over a game of dice. Lord Shiva changed the wife of his, Parvathi and turned her into cows. Then, he asked for help from Lord Vishnu. Thus Lord Vishnu assumed the shape of a cowherd in order to defend his beloved sister.
