Diversity — Fireside Chats at ngAtlanta

Diversity. Everyone knows it’s a thing right? It’s needed, your HR probably stresses it, and you feel like it’s a necessity too but do you know why? So many questions concerning diversity but so little answers.

When you think diversity, the “elephant in the room” is not enough women in the workplace. Although this is a huge issue, so is the lack of different races, cultures, level of developers being hired, etc.

Diversity also has a diverse meaning, and increases in value when it’s done correctly. Now, it just comes down to enforcing that it’s actually done and creating a plan/maintaining it to continue the cycle.

This Dot Labs will be hosting and sponsoring a Diversity Fireside Chat Jan. 10th-11th at NgAtlanta’s 2019 Conference in conjunction with Valor Software and The Paved Road Foundation.

We hope to give members of the community a voice, open forum, and judgement free space to discuss and come up with possible solutions to diversity in the workplace.

We will have speakers from all over the world, who specialize in different technologies, unite on the grounds of bettering diversity, day by day, action by action.

We hope to gain valuable insight and retain information that will not only increase our knowledge but make our careers a diverse, melting pot.
