The “right to own a human being” wasn’t spelled out in the Constitution like the right to bear arms was, so it’s not really the same thing.

BUT you’re right to point out the ironic and apalling reality in our most foundational national documents: “all men are created equal”—except, of course, people of color, millions of them living and dying as slaves. Some the slaves of the men who wrote those words. That’s often conveniently left out as the founding fathers are romanticized and the constitution nearly joins the canon as sacred Scripture.
