God’s Glory in Christ

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. — 2 Corinthians 4:6, 7.

God has shone his light in our hearts when we heard and believed in the gospel. We understood and accepted his gift by this light. When we gaze at Jesus Christ, we see the glory of God! We see how much he loves us. How he proved it by sending his only begotten Son to die for us. In this event, he proclaimed, “See! This is how much I love you!” (John 3:16.)

In the life of Jesus, we comprehend God’s love, mercy, grace, compassion and much more. We are redeemed and washed by the blood of God’s spotless lamb, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have this treasure in our minds/hearts housed in earthen vessels (mortal bodies) so that God may get the glory! We see and acknowledge with grateful hearts that the excellence of the power belongs to God for so great a salvation that he has worked for us in Christ Jesus.
