Hindsight is a wonderful thing

So this week we had our magazine pitch’s and like most other presentations I have had in the past you always think of other things to add or what you can improve on once you have finished.

I felt my pitch was decent to say the least with a few things that needed some work or improvement. I spoke clearly and answered any queries that came up. It seemed a bit brief in regards to others, although I got out everything I needed to. I was pretty much already set on my masthead so I didn't show my process like others. Although after receiving feedback I have since changed both the cover and the masthead.

I was told the cover image didn't have a focal point and the audience was a little unsure in what the magazine represented. As well as the masthead not showcasing enough representation either. Since then I have come up with the design shown below.

Since the pitch and feedback the masthead has become more prominent as well as being a custom font. I have changed the cover image to have a focal point and also added the wording in the bottom border to clarify with the viewer what they will actually be reading.
