Anxiety and selective process
A little of my experience and research on the subject
Since I have started a search for a Job, it’s like a 8 mouths ago, I understood it doesn’t only about skills and fit interview, even though the company is from the exactly area. The position for applying needed was more familiar or similar with our story and past professional experiences, and the interviewer needs to perceives.
Mostly, were applied the same questions: strong and week point, our story, our dreams, why we want come to company, and how we can adds value to firm. With a little time for study this questions, it’s probably you fell less difficult to speak, but not more confident. Always this a challenger.
After all of these details, if we do well, the invite or offer only it’s sent after a long time, due the bureaucracy at companies. During this waiting time, many things pass by our mind. If us did everything alright or forgot tell something, and this keep poking around in our mind. In this moment, the anxiety start and in parallel to it, other feelings also.
Throughout my life, I’ve understood what it is to be rejected or when a project not developing as expected, both of occasion, are incredible opportunities to increase yourself. Since, always in professional or personal life, problems will be create, and the answer for them not will found easily. One great professional to explain this is the CEO and Founder of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma AKA richest man from China, who was rejected in more than 30 jobs, including Police, and KFC. Besides was refused mora than 10 times at Harvard. It must be rejected to grow.
But where does the anxiety enter in that?
Ignorance of the result, coupled with the desire for success, develops a sense of anxiety, which is a natural and totally justifiable feeling. It preserves the human being in a situation of fear. If the person begins to suffer beyond the normal in a moment of tension, that is, to amplify, generalize the anxiety, then it becomes a disease.
According to the Brazilian Society of Cardiology:
To prevent and / or treat both the psychological symptoms and the physical aspects associated with Metabolic Syndrome, lifestyle change is the main non-drug intervention. This change includes changes in dietary patterns, adoption of regular physical exercise, as well as tobacco and alcohol use and stress reduction. (Pitsavos, Panagiotakos, Weinem & Stefanadis, 2006)
Many times, we believed the problem it’s with us and the companies didn’t want us, but sometimes, simply it wasn’t to be, due uncounted reasons. We don’t undertand this. Never. But, Rocky already said:
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done
Only keep moving forward, and search for more, because…
