Good article, and resonates with my experience as a lecturer of how students learn well. To give another perspective of tablets in teaching, I often use my reMarkable tablet in my lectures and it is really useful. I used to use a combination of pdf slides, blackboard/whiteboard work, and verbal narrative to explain and discuss the mathematical content with my students. However, many students now follow courses completely online, and, so far, only the lecture slides and sound are recorded, so the previously ideal blackboard is no longer a good option. To replace the blackboard work, I use my reMarkable together with a document camera, either on a second projector screen or on the main recorded screen, and, in either case, my workings are recorded [and slightly edited for improved presentation] conveniently for quick upload as a pdf file for students to look at. I’ve lost count of the many ways in which my reMarkable helps me with my work! :D
