Just as a quick point — I’m NOT the one who was wishing hell and misery on the other person. You’re saying I have anger AND hatred and I completely disagree. I have anger, yes. Hate? Who do I hate? I am angry at the misuse of the word “hate” to misdirect.
Of course we have to share the definition of “hate” — my definition may be different from yours. I consider “hate” to be the belief that a person has lost (or never had) the right to be considered worthy of anything, and instead is seen as someone to be eliminated.
The modern left has a massive amount of hate for those who disagree/won’t say the right things.
I “hate” an extremely small number of people. Mostly, I see the human race as a terrible tragedy, full of tormented people seeking relief in the wrong places. If I could rescue whoever I wanted and absolve everyone, I’d come relatively close to a full pardon, with no penalty, for the entire human race. Screw making people suffer needlessly. I certainly don’t see a third of the country as “deplorable” or past any sort of redemption.
That’s what’s so ironic about the left’s war on “hatred” — they’ve broadened the word “hate” to where it has virtually no meaning beyond “not a leftist.” I watched a “pro-diversity” speaker today work himself up into a foaming lather about an elderly judge who had used the word “negro.” The speaker could NOT BELIEVE that the judge hadn’t been disbarred, and was convinced that no one should ever go before this horrible man. Nothing short of total destruction of the judge’s life would suffice.
I don’t hate, because I don’t want people to suffer just to see them suffer and by their suffering feel that some greater balance has been restored. I don’t feel many people owe me that sort of debt.
I do forgive you for desperately wanting me to live a miserable life. That sort of mean-spirited hate comes from a place of real fear, from what I can tell. I wish you weren’t so fearful, but I also see your fear as incredibly dangerous, because heck, you’re willing to condemn people like me to lives of misery.
What good are your ideas? I don’t want to learn from you. I don’t want to learn to wish suffering on others. To me, that’s moving backward. As I see it you CLEARLY don’t have any real solutions here because of that very perspective.
