Why the tired trope of sexism? If anything being a woman has really helped her. So many people willing to totally overlook her behavior. Nobody calling her creepy or weird or exploitative of her power.

I’m comparing this scandal to the Anthony Wiener scandal as well as the Larry Craig affair. These were as I see it, comparatively humiliating situations personally for the congresspeople, even though the underlying behaviors weren’t particularly shocking (this was before Weiner ventured into underage girls of course). I don’t see any male privilege operating for the guys — they were made fun of a lot more, and got a lot less sympathy, because male sexual desire is demonized and shamed, whereas women are seen as having valid needs.
