That’s an important notion. Our media shapes our perception of the world. After all, each of us creates her/his own reality. A shared base of information or inputs is necessary if we regard a common reality as something worthwhile.

Based on this, I think it’s fair to regard the most relied-upon platforms for seeking information as reality construction machines. In this piece I digged into the question weather or not Facebook is too-big to-fail precisely because it performs this function. I didn’t get to a clear answer but I think we need to watch it carefully.
