On Forgetting

Isaiah, clearly you have put a lot of thought into this piece and look to the past to see how we as a nation collectively smooth out the wrinkles in our history.

The anthem is a beacon to an ideal. I stand for the anthem and believe the in the values that our country was founded on. Then as now, the message is noble and an honorable pursuit.

We can look to remember the victims and when appropriate try to heal the the damage that was done. We can also, and perhaps a better option, try to live up to the underlying themes the United States of America was founded on. Stand up for the nation in the hopes that it will rise as well.
