Gov. Hogan who was elected and boasted about doing away with the GOP-dubbed “rain tax” a modest, water run-off pollution tax on rich homeowners with waterfront property or developers. Hogan also weakened environmental cleaning and protection regulation of the Chesapeake Bay and has yet to speak out about the $73 million cut on regional Chesapeake Bay clean up under Trump’s proposed budget.
Hogan also initially proposed lifting the ban on fracking but the opposition was overwhelming and one one Western Maryland representative was for it and the Democratic House and Senate would have overridden any veto Gov. Hogan would have applied. Hogan is not a courageous, environmentally-friendly Republican just practical.
