I grew up on the New England coast and I see the need for protection. Now, I live on the Pacific coast, in Oregon and I’ve studied the devastation being caused by subsea activities with almost nothing that can be done about it by us humans. Today and most recently, it has been discovered that the oceans of the world have dead zones,”0" Oxygen, lifeless, void of the lowest of the food chains. My belief is that it is caused by subsea volcanoes across the Pacific emitting acids, carried by currents and dead heading on the continental barrier killing everything in existence. At the surface there seems to be life as the wave action and constant movement of waters and currents allow Oxygen and therefore life to exist as it passes through. However a major problem exists for our country and that is the fisheries of the U.S. and Canada do the most in the world both in the Pacific and the Atlantic to sustain fisheries but to expand it only to be wiped out in quantity by foreign fishery vessels penetrating our waters where the fish accumalate to spawn and gather to wait for the waters specific content is amenable to travel to spawning grounds. During that time the foreign vessels devastate the fishing grounds with nets, miles long. this occurs in both the waters of the Atlantic and the Pacific and will eventually reduce and out do any eco plans we might try to implement. The only way we can solve this is to expand our territorial waters to 200 miles as most countries do around the world, but ours seem to have been reduc ed by diplomacy and not by intelligence for the future.

We need to firstly study and wrap our hands around the subsea volcanic activity to be able to predict weather, to predict and follow volcanic acid emmittance, to follow volcanic effect on water temperature and evaporation, causes of weather and effect on fisheries, and Oxygen dead zones. This can be done with our submarine forces throughout their travels, taking water samples and temperature readings at various depths, surface water information, etc., and reporting all findings to the newly moved authority in New Port, Oregon. and the same for the Atlantic. I’m not sure of the organization, I apologize for my lack of knowledge. I think we will find that the earth’s creation and activity will allow us to correctly predict future existence for us.
