Smarter Spam

What happens when people start using matured “bot” or “AI” for spam?

Imagine a world where we’ve put most of our preferences, likes, and favorites online. We’ve plastered the internet with lines and lines of text, comments, blogs, and other forms of consumable strings. All of the information is ready to be interpreted by spammers to target you.

I see a world where the interfaces we will mainly be using are text messaging apps, and voice based personal assistants. What happens when a spam bot can taylor itself specifically toward selling you something, does it have to disclose it’s a bot?

What happens when bots get better? When a bot becomes something more than a trivial piece of software designed to perform one task? What happens when you’re getting as many spam messages as you do in any given email account?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
