Twelve Thoughts On Feminism And Its Place In Today’s Political Environment
Caitlin Johnstone

“the fact that a political party has attempted to twist feminism into a corporate tool of the oligarchy in no way invalidates the movement itself.”

Feminism is used by Neo-Con Democrats as the old okey dokey. Look, we have your reproductive rights, here girls. No, look here, don’t look at income inequality, health care, and maternity leave…

“and women had no influence over any of it.” Well, very little influence.

Money has no agency. It is how people use this abstract form of value that harms others.

Don’t blame Marx for what people did with his ideas.

Female solidarity helped the female bonobos avoid the bloody rule of the chimpanzees. Sorry, Cornelius.

It’s more about a “domination mindset” than male or female. We have enough examples of this from women in history: Thatcher, Golda Meir, Merkel, Clinton, Pelosi. Certainly, men have a monopoly on the domination mindset and if women can rescue the planet from it, I’m for it all the way. But the neocons, the faux feminists, will fight progressive women, and men, all the way.
