The University of Wolverhampton and SCOPE, CityU recently organised a successful orientation session on 16th September 2023 for new students of two notable programmes: the BSc (Hons) in Construction Management and the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. This event provided a warm welcome and a thorough introduction to the university’s culture, academic standards, and the roadmap for these demanding degrees.

Professor Paul Hampton presided over the occasion and pledged his support for the incoming students. “These are disciplines that form the backbone of any successful construction project,” he said of their chosen subjects. As future construction managers and quantity surveyors, you will shape our built environment.”

Dr Komali Yenneti, the course leader from UoW, also spoke to the excited new students. She approved, saying, “Your journey may be difficult, but the rewards are enormous.” You have selected professions that are not only professionally satisfying but also important to the growth of our communities and infrastructure.”

Dr Thomas Tong, the programme leader at SCOPE CityU, added to the feeling of support. He emphasised the students’ efforts, adding, “Your dedication to mastering your profession will undoubtedly contribute to the betterment of our society.” We are here to help and assist you through your academic path.”

The event provided an excellent chance for incoming students to meet their peers, instructors, and university personnel. They were made aware of the numerous options accessible to them, ranging from academic support services to organisations relevant to their fields of study. The event exemplified the university’s dedication to providing a caring and nurturing environment where students may prosper academically and personally.
